Dr. Md. Hadiuzzaman (Associate Professor) has been working as a faculty member in Civil Engineering department of BUET since 2005. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to Transportation Engineering and Applied Mathematics for Engineers. Besides teaching, he is actively involved in several consultancy projects including feasibility study of mega projects initiated by the government of Bangladesh, planning and designing of sea ports and investigating its impacts on roadway traffic and environment, road infrastructure requirements for reducing traffic congestion generated from seaports and commercial high-rise buildings, designing road geometry and structural standards of low volume roads, developing computer tools for planning and prioritization of rural roads, planning and designing freeway infrastructures, drainage design of airfield pavements, and economic and financial analysis of transportation projects. Previously, he was involved in several research projects those were sponsored by the City of Edmonton, Transport Canada and NSERC. The focus of those projects were related to developing countermeasures for traffic collisions, investigating the accuracy of traffic measurements using fixed sensors, designing coordinated and integrated active traffic controls, field operation test (FOT) of variable speed limits and simulating mobility and safety benefits from connected vehicle Technology. His research interest includes: Traffic Operation and Control, Connected Vehicle technology, Mobility and Safety, ITS, Optimization, Public Transport.
